Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.
We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.
1. SHUTTING DOWN CONSERVATIVE VOICES: Matt Mowers, the EU-US Forum’s founding board member, was on The Dana Show yesterday to discuss Brussels bureaucrats shutting down a conservative conference because it didn’t align with their liberal agenda.
“If you don’t think it’s coming here, look at what’s happening on college campuses, look at the cancel culture we’re seeing here in the United States already. That’s where it begins and it gets institutionalized as policies from there.”
The European Conservative stated, “The threat of chaos is due to an announcement by the Anti-Fascist Coalition, which has announced that it intends to arrive on the scene at the end of the day. In these circumstances, the need to guarantee ‘public safety’ is something of a self-fulfilling prophecy…. being in favour of national sovereignty, which implies a ‘Eurosceptic’ attitude—an opinion, which we learn, on occasion, is now liable to police intervention.”
In case you missed it, the National Conservatism Conference or “NatCon” in Brussels nearly got canceled when Brussels’s socialist mayor Philippe Close “reportedly pressured the establishments to cancel on NatCon,” while Mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode Emir Kir, where the event was ultimately held, told Politico he would “immediately take measures to ban” the conference.”
These liberal mayors had the police shut down the conference on Tuesday.
In a win for freedom of speech: On Wednesday morning, the decision to shut down the conference was ruled unconstitutional by Belgium’s highest administrative court and the conference was allowed to proceed without government limitations. But that’s not the case in all European countries…remember the so-called hate speech law Scotland just enforced that we discussed at length in last week’s edition?
What They Are Saying:
- @PM_ViktorOrban: The Belgian police decided to shut down the @NatConTalk conference in #Brussels, just two hours after it started. I guess they couldn’t take free speech any longer. The last time they wanted to silence me with the police was when the Communists set them on me in ‘88. We didn’t give up then and we will not give up this time either! #NoMigration #NoGender #NoWar
-
@gjpappin: So this is what the rule of law looks like in Brussels! Living in Hungary where intellectual/political events occur freely, I’d forgotten. 📸 The view from inside @NatConTalk, where the Brussels 🇧🇪 police are only permitting exit 👇
-
@EvaVlaar: The police in Brussels just shut down the National Conservative Conference – @NatConTalk. Undoubtedly by order of the tyrannical Eurocrats just a few blocks away. “Liberal democracy”, anyone?
-
@EUUSForum: Free speech is dead for conservatives in Europe.
-
@PeterSweden7: The Mayor of Brussels just BANNED a conservative event where the Hungarian President Viktor Orban was to speak. We don’t have free speech in Europe anymore. SHARE if you support free speech ✋
-
@EUUSForum: Bureaucrats in Brussels are blatantly silencing conservative voices. Remember what they did come election time.
-
@Nigel_Farage: What just happened in Brussels this afternoon was a disgrace. For the Mayor and police to shut down a peaceful political event makes me more convinced of Brexit than ever.
-
@EUUSForum: NIGEL FARAGE on Brussels shutting down the NatCon Conference: “This is like the old Soviet Union. No alternative view allowed.”
-
@EUUSForum: Video shows the moment police filed into NatCon in Brussels to shut down free speech. We can not let the elites in Brussels get away with silencing our voices.
-
@Borghi_Claudio: This is the aperitif of what will be daily if the European army is allowed to do its thing. Stop it before it’s too late.
2. PUMPING THE BRAKES ON FREEDOM: For the sake of the climate, Germany wants to ban weekend driving under the proposed “Climate Protection Act.” Germany’s Transportation minister characterized the proposal as, “Comprehensive and indefinite driving bans on Saturdays and Sundays.” This radical idea is coming from the same nation that is killing its own auto industry with similar policies, including one to ban new combustion engines in 2035.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:
- @EUUSForum: 🚨INSANE🚨 ‘Germany Considers Banning Weekend Driving To Meet Climate Goals’ Berlin’s elites are now attempting to ban cars two days a week and implement new speed limits for the sake of their green targets.
-
@MattForVA: Germany’s leaders threaten to ban driving on the weekend if the legislature doesn’t pass a green new deal. In other words, we’ll make sure you can drive to work to feed the tax machine, but when you’re off, you’ll have no freedom. Those threats will be in the US soon as well.
- @SenatorAntic: Remember when “climate lockdowns” were just a conspiracy theory! Now western political leaders are threatening “indefinite driving bans” on weekends. How long before we are proven tragically right ……yet again.
3. ELECTION INTERFERENCE: Following the Chega party’s historic victory in Portugal’s elections last month, Meta has imposed a 10-year restriction on the conservative party’s Facebook account without specific reasoning. With just under 50 days until voting begins in Europe’s Parliamentary elections, it will be virtually impossible for Chega to reach their nearly 200,000 Facebook followers and reach Portuguese voters that the other political parties in the country have full access to.
Chega called this “one of the biggest attacks on freedom of expression on a political party in Portugal,” on X earlier this week. Chega continued: “No matter how hard they try, they won’t be able to shut [us] up!”
Check out the compelling video that André Ventura, Chega party leader, posted on X about the situation:
🚨🚨🚨 SOUND THE ALARM: After the Asylum and Migration Pact’s passed in the European Parliament last week, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán and former Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki slammed the pact for not doing anything to fix Europe’s open borders and migrant crisis and calling it the new version of the EU’s open border policy that began in 2015, Willkommenskultur. Orbán, whose own nation has built a wall on its EU borders to keep out illegal migrants, articulated that the crisis will continue as long as migrants can stay in Europe while their asylum claims are examined.
The pact will next go to the European Council, which only requires a majority vote for the measure to pass. Nations who do not desire for these policies will not have a veto power.

Sound familiar? Democrats in the US like New York Governor Kathy Hochul are guilty of pushing similar “cash-for-illegals” programs.
The American Left and EU Liberals are in LOCKSTEP on an agenda that favors illegal immigration, restricts free speech, and advances a radical vision for the future of the globe.
