February 27, 2025 – EU-US Forum Tip Sheet

Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.

We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.

1. 🗳️WHAT’S NEXT FOR GERMANY?

GERMAN ELECTION UPDATE: The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) won the German election Sunday with 28% of the vote, which means Friedrich Merz will most likely be the next Chancellor of Germany. Germany’s right-wing party ended up in second place with a historic 20% of the vote… BUT it seems the ruling party is about to ice out 1 in 5 Germans who support the far-right party.

CDU’s “WORST PERFORMANCE” – Just a few days after the German election, the to-be Chancellor Merz is already turning his back on Germany… Merz has begun talks with the far-left party Social Democrats (SPD) to make deals and ice out the second-place winner of the German elections – AfD.

Merz also backtracked his stance prior to the election to close Germany’s borders and told Germans: “None of us are talking about border closures.

EU-US Forum’s Founding Board Member and Former Senior White House Advisor at the U.S. Department of State, Matt Mowers, joined The Dana Show with Dana Loesch this week to discuss the German election results and how JD Vances’ Munich Security Conference speech resonated with European Citizens.

You’ve now seen, really a cratering of the left wing across Europe, and its most recent iterative form is there in Germany. I mean, Schultz’s party, and I think he’s still sobbing right now, 24 hours later, really took a collapse. This is their worst performance, I believe, in over 100 years right now.

JD Vance clearly, is in better touch with the constituents of Germany than their own current chancellor, Schultz was because what we saw were voters vote the way JD Vance would have voted likely had he been a citizen of Europe, not the way Schultz would have. And so I think it’s really telling that for all the hand wringing from the global bureaucracy that you kind of saw present in Munich and everywhere else, and all the commentary after his speech, that he was the one who actually could identify the true underlying concerns of the European citizen in a way that like the EU, US Forum has been talking about… It’s all the same issues we’ve been talking about now that we’ve seen across the continent, unchecked migration leading to crime, and particularly in Germany, you’ve seen statistics that show, you know, nearly 50% of the violent crime is committed by someone who’s a migrant.”

2. 🚔ROMAINIAN FRONT-RUNNER LOCKED UP?

Just after Romania’s top court disgracefully overturned the first round of the country’s presidential election, Romanian police have now wrongfully detained their Presidential front-runner, Călin Georgescu, for questioning!

The EU wants Georgescu taken in as a political PRISONER, and yet Brussels is SILENT. 🦗🦗🦗

In his recent trip to Germany, JD Vance called out the overturned election:

When we see European courts canceling elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others, we ought to ask whether we’re holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard.

While EU bureaucrats refuse to speak out… American conservatives are also outraged. Jack Posobiec posted on X:

3. 🏥W.H.O. – WE HIDE OUTBREAKS

We have to make our voices heard.” – Following the United States’ exit from the World Health Organization, Jason Miller, Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump, spoke to members of the Italian Senate about why President Trump decided to withdraw the U.S. from the WHO and urged the Italian government to follow suit.

Reality is, if the WHO is going to be effectively pawns for China and for the CCP, then we have to make our voices heard. And so that’s why I think the leadership from folks like Senator Claudio Borghi is so critical, and why the EU-US Forum is so important at this stage right now, because we have to use this commonality that we have. We have to use the pressure that we are able to go and exert to force the WHO to be responsive to member nations. This is something that can no longer continue in its current function. It has to be something where we take it back over and make sure that they’re following in a way that actually is representative of people, and as we saw with President Trump, in his very strong words, with regard to the WHO before, they have to go and actually bring some aspect of sensibility back to the organization.

WHO’S REALLY IN CHARGE?

Members of the Socialist and Democrat (S&D) group are taking the reins from European Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen to ramp up the far-Left EU Green Deal.

VDL is seconds away from caving to the pressure and pushing the EU even further to the Left.

Just recently, a leaked memo from the far-left EU party unveiled its plan to keep a tight leash on the European People’s Party (EPP) and further push out conservatives.

European Conservative adds:

The plan to preserve the firewall involves “driving a wedge” between EPP and conservatives and making sure the center-right knows “there will be consequences to looking both ways.

The Socialists of the EU must be stopped. This is an overreach of power.
