Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.
We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.
1. 📊POLL: One in Three Europeans Expect a Drop in Their Living Standards
New polling from the European Parliament’s Eurobarometer reveals the disastrous effects of the EU’s progressive policies. While the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen boasts about the toplines, the most important results are in the details.
53% of the French and 47% of Germans say they are struggling with declining living standards, which is, in part, the outcome of overregulation and socialist ideals.
Because Brussels continues to push extreme environmental and regulatory policies, European citizens and businesses are paying the price, with more than half reporting a drop in their living standards.
Of course, VDL is outright ignoring the less-than-great economic conditions Europeans are facing… 🙄
Luckily, President Trump is committed to saving the U.S. from the radical leftist policies that seem to have a chokehold on Europe.
This new polling reflects the same findings from the EU-US Forum in January — 82% of EU citizens polled said their cost of living has risen dramatically and most say their financial situation has gotten worse in the past year.
This is what happens when governments prioritize ideological agendas over economic stability.
2. 🔪MIGRANTS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAJORITY OF VIOLENT CRIMES
New findings out of Germany show a troubling picture of the consequences of radical open border policies.
Data from Berlin proves a disproportionate amount of violent crimes are linked to foreign nationals. Non-German males were responsible for 52.2% of violent crimes in 2024.
The results are undeniable: unchecked immigration and lax enforcement endanger public safety. Leaders pushing these radical, open border policies owe their citizens answers — and solutions.
The European Conservative reports:
“According to police statistics, of the 12,284 male suspects arrested last year, 6,407 did not have a German passport. This means that foreigners are overrepresented when it comes to violent crime: Foreigners make up 24.9% of Berlin’s population, yet an astounding 52.2% of male criminals do not possess a German passport—the rate for this was 50.5% in 2023.”
Even with this data, Germany’s socialist party is still pushing to intake 500,000 migrants per year. Members of Germany’s AfD party rightfully call the move “demographic suicide.”
Germany’s open-border experiment has led to a surge in violent crime. Will leaders wake up before it’s too late?
3. 🫢PARTY PROHIBITION IN GERMANY
The ruling party is TERRIFIED.
AfD’s popularity is still on the rise in Germany — They are just two points behind the CDU, and their popularity is growing even higher since the German election.
Now: the ruling party’s leaders are so afraid of losing their power that they’re willing to SILENCE their opposition.
The CDU and the Green party are again calling for a ban on the AfD, now saying the need to ban the conservative party “as soon as possible.”
REMINDER: The AfD is overwhelmingly popular and recently earned over 20% of German support in the recent elections because of their strong conservative stances on immigration and censorship.
The CDU’s latest push to ban their very popular opposition proves once again that the left only wants “democracy” when they’re in complete control.
When the Left can’t win on ideas, they resort to censorship and authoritarianism.
📲EU’S “OVERSEAS EXTORTION”
The European Union is ramping up its war against American companies, targeting Meta with a potential $1 billion fine.
Brussels’ bureaucrats are hitting Meta for allegedly violating the Digital Markets Act but are much more interested in punishing successful businesses than fostering competition.
President Trump called the EU penalties “overseas extortion.”
Is this about fairness? Or control?
The EU is looking for any opportunity to stifle innovation, also taking issue with Apple for “allegedly breaching landmark rules.”
This move to fine Meta isn’t about competition, it’s about POWER. Brussels’ real goal? Expand government control over digital platforms in the EU and overseas.
President Trump has spoken out previously against these constant ridiculous attacks on American companies, stating:
“Whether you like them or not, they’re American companies, and [the EU] shouldn’t be doing that. That’s, as far as I’m concerned, it’s a form of taxation. So, we have some very big complaints with the EU.”
Instead of Brussels dictating the rules, they should promote policies that empower innovation and consumer choice.
