May 22, 2025 – EU-US Forum Tip Sheet

Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.

We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.

1. 🔔 EU-US FORUM IS IN BUDAPEST, HUNGARY!

The EU-US Forum is coming to Hungary!

If you’re in town for CPAC Hungary, join us a day earlier on May 28 for a conversation with Jason Miller, President Trump’s senior advisor, to discuss the future of EU-US relations under the Trump Administration.

While Brussels bureaucrats double down on censorship, radical green mandates, and open borders, Hungary continues to lead as Europe’s lone conservative stronghold, pushing back against globalist overreach. Will that change any time soon? Hear from our experts about what to expect in terms of EU-US relations in the coming months.

2. 📳 TRUMP ADMIN CHALLENGES EU DIGITAL LAWS OVER CENSORSHIP CONCERNS

The Trump administration is intensifying its opposition to the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA), asserting that the legislation threatens free speech and unfairly targets American tech companies.

The State Department is gathering evidence of alleged censorship practices in Europe and warns that the DSA’s requirements could influence content moderation policies in the U.S.

In early May, the State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, & Labor (DRL) posted on X:

U.S. companies like Meta and Apple have been hit with hefty, unjust fines under similar legislation with the Digital Marketing Act (DMA) – $570 million against Apple and nearly $230 million against Meta. These tech giants are supporting the administration’s stance on these digital acts, contending that EU regulations hinder innovation.

The administration’s push on this comes just after Rep. Jim Jordan and fellow US House Judiciary Committee members pushed back against the European Union’s censorship agenda, sending a stern letter to EU Commissioner Michael McGrath, warning that the DSA could threaten free speech, even across the Atlantic.

Americans are not taking the EU’s censorship crusade lightly.

3.🚜 BRUSSELS VS. FARMERS: A BATTLE OVER FOOD SECURITY

Once again, the EU is stabbing farmers in the back.

Europe’s farmers are taking to the streets of Brussels, protesting the EU’s proposed budget cuts to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

These cuts threaten to divert essential funds from agriculture to other projects. Farmers warn that such reallocations could have catastrophic consequences for Europe’s food security.

The protests signal a growing unrest among the agricultural community. Organizers have indicated that larger demonstrations may follow if their concerns continue to be ignored.

We can’t forget the series of massive farmer protests that took place just last year.

The CAP reforms, set to be unveiled in July, propose merging independent funding instruments into a single, flexible budget. This would completely undermine the predictability and stability that farmers rely on.

Elli Tsiforou, secretary general of COPA-COGECA – the united voice of farmers and agri-cooperatives – expressed deep concerns about the potential loss of the CAP’s second pillar, which supports rural development programs and helps farmers meet environmental regulations.

As the July 16th deadline approaches, the tension between EU policymakers and Europe’s farmers intensifies. The outcome will not only affect the agricultural sector but also the broader issue of food security across the continent.

🇨🇳 EU SPENDS €650 MILLION TO CENSOR SPEECH

A recent report from conservative think tank MCC Brussels reveals that the European Union has allocated nearly €650 million to projects aimed at combating so-called “hate speech” and “disinformation.”

While Europeans are struggling with rising costs, rogue bureaucrats are busy funding an ideological crusade to sanitize the internet and muzzle dissent.

Not only is the EU using YOUR tax dollars to censor you, but this expenditure surpasses the EU’s funding for transnational cancer research by approximately 31%.

Priorities… right?

The report suggests that these funds support a network of NGOs and academic institutions that align with the EU’s narrative of stifling dissenting voices.

This is not democracy. Free speech is under attack.
