June 5, 2025 – EU-US Forum Tip Sheet

Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.

We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.

1. 🇵🇱 VICTORY: CONSERVATIVE NAWROCKI DEFEATS LIBERAL INCUMBENT!

In a stunning victory for conservative values, Karol Nawrocki has been elected as Poland’s next president, defeating liberal Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski with 50.89% of the vote.

Trump-backed candidate, Karol Nawrocki, won with a message of conservative values and skepticism toward the European Union’s bureaucratic leftist agenda.

This election outcome is a huge blow for Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s leftist government, which aimed to deepen Poland’s integration with the EU.

EU–US Forum Founding Board Member Matt Mowers commented on the victory in an interview on Fox Newjs Radio’s Guy Benson Show Tuesday, drawing comparisons between Nawrocki and President Trump:

He really took on a lot of the same attributes that Donald Trump campaigned on in the United States – talking about illegal immigration, talking about preserving Polish values, talking about ensuring that you had a Polish identity that wasn’t just totally usurped by European identity, talked about free speech – all those things, and you saw Polish voters respond to it by voting for him.

With Nawrocki’s presidency, Poland is set up to adopt more conservative views that their people want.

His election reflects a broader trend of conservative resurgence in Europe. EU citizens are done with the liberal establishment and are defeating them one vote at a time.

2. 🍃OPPOSITION TO EU GREEN POLICIES CONTINUES TO GROW

A growing coalition of conservative leaders across Europe are challenging the European Union’s aggressive net-zero climate policies, citing economic harm and ideological overreach.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni rightly criticized the EU’s radical energy transition approach as “ideological,” arguing it has caused “enormous damage” without delivering promised benefits. She expressed the grave importance of putting “reality back at the center” of environmental policymaking.

Outside of the EU, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage pledged to dismantle the net-zero agenda if his party gains power, claiming it would save taxpayers £45 billion annually.

Despite opposition to this out-of-control energy agenda across the globe, EU officials remain steadfast. Climate Chief Wopke Hoekstra celebrated progress toward a 54% emissions reduction by 2030, while Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen insisted that more work remains.

This pushback from leaders like Meloni and Farage is what the EU needs. Restrictive energy measures are harming Europe’s business and agricultural environment.

📝 AMERICAN COMPANIES PUSHING BACK ON EU DMA

Your privacy is at risk.

The EU’s Digital Markets Act continues to wreak havoc on American companies. But, make no mistake, these companies are pushing back as hard as possible against the outrageous regulations.

In the latest move, Apple announced it will appeal the EU order that would in essence force Apple to hand over their innovation to businesses that have in some cases made it their sole business model to copy the tech company. What’s more, according to Apple:

“These requirements will also hand data-hungry companies sensitive information, which poses massive privacy and security risks to our EU users. Companies have already requested our users’ most sensitive data — from the content of their notifications, to a full history of every stored WiFi network on their device — giving them the ability to access personal information that even Apple doesn’t see.”

Further, just last week, Jason Miller, former Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump joined the EU-US Forum panel discussion that focused on EU-US relations and covered topics such as the EU’s extreme censorship policies like the DMA. Jason said in part,

“… It’s quite horrific what we see the EU doing and their assault on American tech companies, and I think that this is a – you’re gonna see the United States and President Trump make this a very big deal as far as we move along in trade negotiations.”
