July 31, 2025 – EU-US Forum Tip Sheet

Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.

We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.

1. ❌ EU CLIMATE AGENDA: “IDEOLOGICAL EXPERIMENT”

Someone is finally standing up to the climate radicals in Brussels and their disastrous plan for the EU.

For those who haven’t been following Brussels’ latest overreach, the European Commission is pursuing a non-sensical plan to slash greenhouse gas emissions by a staggering 90% by 2040. It’s a reckless, ideologically-driven move that would, in reality, gut European and American businesses operating in the EU, burden European families, and further isolate the EU economically from the rest of the world.

But Czech MEP Ondřej Knotek, a member of the Patriots for Europe group and the European Parliament’s lead negotiator on the climate proposal, is demanding the EU completely reject this radical strategy.

Breaking from traditional EU climate policymaking, Knotek’s position is refreshingly honest and eye-opening: He calls the EU’s plan an “ideological experiment,” one that risks cratering Europe’s industrial base while doing next to nothing to benefit the global climate.

Brussels wants to silence dissent and fast-track climate policies that have already bankrupted businesses, taken away jobs, exacerbated housing costs, and made Europe weaker on the global stage. This is exactly why it’s so critical to keep pushing back against the liberal green agenda that dominates the EU.

2.📱EU STILL HIDES BEHIND SHADY DMA

On Sunday, President Trump announced a historic trade deal with the EU, even touting it as the “biggest deal ever made,” and saying, “We’re in great shape… It’s going to be a lot of jobs here and great for America. Our relationship is unparalleled, but it keeps it even closer.

That said, the EU is still hiding behind the EU’s shady Digital Markets Act (DMA), a regulatory framework wreaking havoc on successful American tech companies and something the President and the White House have been VERY outspoken against.

In a recent press release, the the White House acknowledged the EU’s outlandish tech regulations are something that they intend to address:

The United States and the European Union intend to address unjustified digital trade barriers. In that respect, the European Union confirms that it will not adopt or maintain network usage fees. Furthermore, the United States and the European Union will maintain zero customs duties on electronic transmissions.

Conversely, the EU can’t seem to let it go – further proof that they have had it out for American tech companies from the get-go. Here’s what one Senior EU Official had to say:

There is absolutely no commitment on digital regulation, nor on digital taxes.

It’s clear, the EU will continue to hide behind their shady DMA regulations. Rest assured, President Trump and the Administration are taking bold steps to correct unbalanced trade deals and they will not sit by as the EU continues to push their extreme regulatory policies that only exist to devastate American tech companies.

🇪🇺 DEMOCRACY IN DECLINE?

A new EU-wide survey reveals something shocking: only 36% of Europeans are consistent supporters of democracy. Political persecution and corruption have driven citizens to lose faith in their own systems. In countries like Spain and France, consistent support for democracy is barely above 25%.

Earlier this year, Calin Georgescu was favored in the Romanian presidential election and was arrested shortly before he was to submit his candidacy. Europeans have watched tactics straight out of the Banana Republic ravage their democracy; now they’ve lost their faith in it.

EU countries continue to attempt to stifle the voices of conservative parties against Europe. All the while, EU leadership makes fast and egregious decisions that are bringing Europe to its demise. When asked, only 6% of respondents to the survey said they have “a lot” of trust in EU leadership.

Elitist leaders put their own “moral” ideals ahead of the needs of Europeans and put democracy on the chopping block. Democracy is meant to serve the will of all people, not just those with the most power.
