Welcome to the EU-US Forum Weekly Tip Sheet, your go-to product for information about the EU-US Forum and its work, timely updates on the dangerous far-left ideas coming out of the European Union, and detailed analysis on the key players influencing European politics.
We send this out weekly to keep you apprised of the most important political and policy topics in Europe as we continue to work toward our mission of exposing the EU’s radical agenda and the threat it poses to the US and Western Civilization.
1. TRUMP’S WIN SHAKES UP EU ELITES: European conservatives are celebrating President Trump’s victory and are excited for the Western conservative movement’s momentum to build in Europe even more.
Founding Board Member of the EU-US Forum, Matt Mowers, joined Dana Loesch to discuss what the future of EU-US relations will look like under a second Trump term.“Europe got a wide-eyed awakening Wednesday morning. And what they’re going to have to do now is actually step up to the plate and invest in their own military more. They’re going to have to actually work with the United States to have a fair and balanced trade relationship.
“We can’t have the open borders… Europe is looking for America to be that leader, they can’t do it on their own. They need America to be clear-eyed and principled in these things to lead the world forward,” Mowers said.
“’These folks have been so wrong for so long, and they’re living the impacts of it every single day,” Mowers said.

Europe’s reaction to a second Trump administration:
- “The conservative populist has long insisted that he and a growing number of his European allies would ultimately find themselves on the winning side of history…Trump’s victory now delivers an emphatic boost to those countries that have been seeking to stand up against the EU mainstream and wrest more sovereign powers away from bureaucrats in Brussels.” – POLITICO
- “It’s obvious that right now it’s the big moment for the [Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia] Melonis and the Orbáns of this world.” – a senior Macron ally
- Trump’s win represents “a new approach in policy for the U.S. and its European allies. Europe must adapt and understand that force has come from the people.” – Andrea Di Giuseppe, Brothers of Italy party.
- “A renewal of a different West, where Trump is the leader and the West follows.” – Nicolai von Ondarza, head of research at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik think tank.

2.GERMANY SNAPS: Germany’s leftist government is in shock and despair over an upcoming Trump presidency and in turmoil over – well – their own leftist failures. 🤷♂️
Wednesday night, reports emerged that Chancellor Scholz will fire his fiscally conservative Finance Minister from the Free Democratic Party and his own coalition. The move forces Scholz to call for a confidence vote in mid-January, although others want him to call for the vote much sooner – within days.
His now-ex-Finance Minister said, “Olaf Scholz has long failed to recognise the need for a new economic awakening in our country.”
The vote will more than likely result in a rejection of Scholz and, consequently, a snap election and Scholz’s exit as the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party largely leads in recent polls. CDU is running for harsher immigration policies and enforcement.
3. IRELAND ELECTIONS: Ireland also faces snap elections. The ruling party, Fine Gael, is hoping to increase their seats in Parliament as they’re far ahead with 25% of projected votes among eight other parties.
The deadline for an election is March, but Fine Gael’s hoping to capitalize on a recent budget that’s giving €2.2 billion back to taxpayers as their competing party is engulfed by scandal and infighting.
Ireland’s Parliament is also set to increase by almost 9% to reflect is rising population due to its immigration crisis.
COMMISSIONER HEARINGS TAKE OFF: EU’s next round of commissioners, who will spend the next five years increasing censorship, intensifying regulations, hurting economic prosperity for the “environment,” and turning illegal immigrants into legal, voting citizens, started their very tough, three-hour long questioning from Parliament before they’re voted on.
