EU-US Forum Applauds President Trump’s Selection of Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Mike Waltz to Top National Security Positions

The EU-US Forum Founding Board Member and former Trump Administration Official Matt Mowers and EU-US Forum Board Member and former Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Joseph Grogan, released the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s appointment of Senator Marco Rubio to serve as the Secretary of State and Representative Michael Waltz to serve as his National Security Advisor.

“The United States will be respected by the world again under President Trump — and his recent selections of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and Michael Waltz as National Security Advisor ensure a restoration of Western dominance on the world stage.

American and European voters alike outright rejected the failures of globalists in Brussels and D.C. this year, and Rubio and Waltz are two strong leaders who will promote a commonsense energy agenda, peace through our military strength, and immigration policies that put America and its allies first.

The EU-US Forum supports these selections by President Trump and we have no doubt that Rubio and Waltz will restore President Trump’s America First foreign policy agenda.”

BACKGROUND:

  • The EU-US Forum is led by multiple former Trump administration officials. Matt Mowers, former Senior White House Advisor at the U.S. Department of State, serves as the Founding Board Member, and Joseph Grogan, former Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, serves as a Board Member.
  • In its inaugural year, the EU-US Forum has held four events: Three in the EU (Rome, Paris, and Vienna) and one in Washington, D.C., in addition to joining Warsaw Enterprise Institute and Heritage Foundation’s “Future of Europe” conference in Warsaw and CPAC Hungary. The events brought awareness to the EU’s radical left-wing ideas that need to be stopped from expanding from Europe to the United States.
  • Ahead of the EU elections last July, the EU-US Forum ran a $750,000 paid media campaign across Europe with ads in Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. Messages of the ads included:
    • Too many taxes. Too much environmental regulation. Free Germany from these economic shackles. Demand change at the EU.”
    • EU immigration policies are making you less safe.
    • Demand free speech. Demand change at the EU.
  • Ahead of the elections, The EU-US Forum released polling in May predicting the rightward swing due to EU citizens becoming increasingly concerned with illegal immigration, the cost of living, high taxes, excessive regulations, and government censorship. The EU-US Forum polling results suggested EU citizens are increasingly looking for conservative policy solutions and that conservatives would make major gains in the elections.
